COFFEE, HIKE AND MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE - 1 JUNE 2017

31 may 2017

The weather for the morning was coolish and sunny.

I checked the waves but very small so I had a walk around Terrigal Haven. Being low tide and a sm all swell, I was able to walk around the rocks at the base of the cliff. It was nice going to the edge of the rocks and the water and checking out a few rock pools.

I met up with Jacinta and paul for coffee at 'The Cove'. A nice chat in the sun while protected from the breeze.

Surf check but a no go.

Rang and caught up with high school mate and long time surfing buddy John at Copacabana for a morning coffee and chat. Noice.

Up to Kincumba Mountain for a mountain bike ride. I rode a couple of tracks and had a fun time. The ride felt smooth and easy. I guessed that losing a bit of weight and extra exercise was starting to pay off. Yo!

Called Jacinta who was just finishing a morning walk so I joined her at Terrigal Haven for coffee, chat and a sun sit.

Later in the morning, Kara Mr. Archibald and I sat in the sun at Wamberal Lagoon protected from the cool winds. Relaxing and pretty.

JAPANESE GARDENS, GOSFORD AND TERRIGAL HAVEN HIKE - 31 MARCH 2017

Kara, my daughter and I drove out to the Japanese Gardens at East Gosford.

It is located at the back of the Arts Centre.

We entered through the smaller gallery area where there was an exhibition of media on various at veterans who live on the Central Coast.

It was cleverly presented with a current photo of the veteran and a story on their war exploits. Their exploits were acts of heroism were various. Some did brave fighting deeds, others helping their mates and/or the local people. A good read plus one artist did a representation of the veteran in their chosen media. Some that stood out to me was a book like presentation, a charcoal drawing and a collage of yesteryear.

Through the doors and we were in the gardens. I visited this place in it's early years when the plants were small and beginning to take shape. Now, the gardens are thick, trimmed and blooming. Very pretty and relaxing.

The pool in the centre is full of large carp and cascades of water feed the pool.

After our wander, we sat down in the outside part of the café for coffee and scones.

Later in the afternoon, Jacinta and I had a walk along the Terrigal Haven path, the beach and around the rocks. It was a breezy walk but it was nice to be out in the sunshine.

27th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - 1 APRIL 2016

The first of April is our wedding anniversary. Today is the day of our 27th wedding anniversary.

Jacinta and I, drove around our favourite spots in Terrigal and Wamberal and took selfies. It was heaps of fun! :)

We passed the main thoroughfare in Terrigal and smelled food. It smelt good so we stopped and had dinner and a few beers at the Crown Plaza Terrigal beer garden. The food and beers were great.

Back home, we opened up a bottle of Moet and watched our wedding video while eating chocolate.

A nice fun celebration.

CENTRAL COAST - AVOCA LAGOON - KAYAK - 27 october 2013

I was going to sell my other kayak but lucky I didn't. my wife decided that she was going to have a go. She had been kayaking before but not for a long time.

We were up early, packed the gear in the van and drove to the scout hall at Avoca Lagoon.

There was little wind, heaps of birdlife, no one else on the lagoon. it was very peaceful.

We did get stuck in the shallow mud at one stage as the lagoon water level was low. I pulled both kayaks to deeper water.
