GIRRAKOOL - 29 JULY 2020

So busy of late.

Jacinta and I had a hike at Girrkaool in Brisbane Water National Park.

We did the loop track.

The past four days were days of heavy rain.

We arrived at the carpark and it was empty ... a good sign. The tracks were a wet with parts being pools of water and others as dry as a bone.

There were several wild flowers in bloom. The baronias? were the most striking with their profusion of bright purple flowers.

Drops of moisture were hanging off the tip of leaves and flowers. These droplets reflected in the sunlight... delicately very pretty.

The water in the creeks were flowing aplenty but not as high as I anticipated so we were able to crossed a low water level stepping stone path across one of the creeks. The flow of water over the waterfalls was strong and powerful.

a nice way to start the day.

GIRRAKOOL - WATER, LIZARDS, FLOWERS - 14 OCTOBER 2018

I parked at the Girrakool Picnic Area in Brisbane Water National Park for a hike on the Girrakool Loop Trail.

Today the weather was off and on showers. The tracks were very wet. Some of the tracks were like shallow creeks.

The two major creeks Piles and Leask Creek were in full flow. There were a number of powerful waterfalls and the water flow was high and fast. The shallow water crossing on Piles Creek was not passable without getting very wet or maybe getting washed away. I was cautious around the water's edge.

The wildflowers were abundant and plentiful. It some spots the flowers were thick with a heady fragrance. Nice!

I came across a few lizards. One lizard froze on my approach and remained so for a long and close photo shoot. It's eyes were the only thing that moved.

At one stage, I was lightly rained upon.

My first outdoor adventure since returning to Australia. A nice start.

BRISBANE WATER NP- GIRRAKOOL LOOP HIKE - 27 OCTOBER 2017

27/10/2017
The day started fine but looked like rain was likely.
I had an ocean swim at Terrigal Haven then I sat on the beach and out of the wind and read a book.

I hadn't been to the movies for awhile so I went to watch 'Geostorm'. It was okay but there were so many holes in the plot. The vice president wants to become the president so he plans to wipe out most of the world and have it looked like the president was accidently killed. Seems it would have been easier to assassinate the president and skip the world destruction part which could have killed him as well.
The weather fined up in the afternoon so I returned to my sitting and reading on beach at Haven.

Back to Brisbane Water National Park for a hike on the Girrakool Loop track with my daughter and Mr Archibald.

The weather was cool and it did rain for a short time while we were walking.

The wildflowers were out and this time I had my best camera for some clearer photos.

Mr Archibald loved the wildflowers, especially, the purple ones.

The rainforest and waterfalls were pretty and Mr Archibald looked quite at home in the rainforest conditions.
