31 MARCH
We left the Friendly
Beaches and headed south towards the FREYCINET PENINSULA. We booked at camp
site and continued on towards the start of the WINEGLASS BAY LOOKOUT WALK. It
was an easier walk than what we had been led to believe. It was a gradual climb
to a number of lookouts across Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay. It rained a little
during the walk but at the top the views were clear and spectacular.
We gradually walked
back to the van and drove to CAPE TOURVILLE. There was a lighthouse and a short
walk that traverse the top of the cliff. The views north and south were
excellent and the wind was ferocious.
We drove to our
campsite, settled in, had a long hot shower and relaxed through the rest of the
afternoon.

FREYCINET PENINSULA
33rd
wedding anniversary today.
After a sleep in we
had a walk along the nearby beach. It was only going to be a short stroll but
we ended up walking 5 km to the far end of the beach and back.
Later in the
afternoon, we had wine and cheese on the beach in a sheltered corner. We were
entertained by the seagulls steaking out their territory.
Just before sunset, we
had a tasty dinner at the local pub. Greta food and wine. The waitress was from
Chitwan in Nepal. We had stayed there years ago doing hiking and elephant rides
in the national park.

FREYCINET PENINSULA
Jacinta wasn’t too
well last night so we slept in late. Plus, there was a light drizzle of rain
and strong wind.
Eventually, we got
moving at left Coles Bay.
