CENTRAL COAST - 21 TO 26 MAY 2022

 21 MAY

A hike in Bouddi National Park along the Rocky Point Track with Jacinta.

This hike was along the tracks with a return along the trail. The tracks were quite eroded from the recent rains and muddy in spots. It made for a few obstacles to work around. The view at the lookout was superb over Hardy's Bay and surrounds. The return along the trail was easy as it is mainly along a dry service road.

24 MAY

A hike on the Cabbage Tree Track at Strickland State Forest with Jacinta.

A narrow up and down track that passes huge boulders, cliffs, soft ferns and cabbage trees. The track was muddy in parts. Watch out for the leeches!

26 MAY

A cycle from Long Jetty to The Entrance with Jacinta.

An easy cycle with great views over the lake. the tracks passes through parkland, picnic point and the lake foreshore.

LATE JANUARY FUN - 31 JANUARY 2020

31 January 2020

Swim at The Haven.

30 January 2020

Snorkel at Toowoon Bay. Heaps of fish.

A new bird in our yard.

Spiders are proliferating.

29 January 2020

Nice day but surf very flat.

A morning ride at Kincumba Mountain along a few of the tracks. No one there, quiet, damp tracks, humid, misty and heaps of mosquitoes.

Surfed at The Bend, Terrigal with Ken. Some okay waves but the tide filled the waves quickly and it was 'all over red rover'.

A visit from Friend Chris for a few days.

28 January 2020

Visited the physio this morning. A few adjustments to the wrist brace and a discussion on possibility of surfing. We removed the metal bracing of the wrist strap.

Left the physio and drove straight down to The Bend on Terrigal Beach. Heaps of waves – some fast lefts and short but fun rights. The wrist hurt a bit but not enough to spoil the fun. After ¾ hour, I was tired but feeling so good.

26 January 2020

Cycled along the path at Umina/Ettalong Beaches.

It was very warm and humid. Such pretty views. Finished with a swim at Umina Beach after the ride.

25 January 2020

Cycled along the path at Tuggerah Lake, Long Jetty. Rode for a while on some short tracks where someone had made a few bike challenges… fun.

Wrist felt good but a bit awkward with the flat metal  that runs along the strapping. Hard to get a good grip on the handlebars.

TUGGERAH LAKE CYCLE - 16 SEPTEMBER 2017

In the early afternoon, We drove over to ride the cycle path at Long Jetty around part of Tuggerah Lake.

Jacinta's bike had remained unridden for a few years but the other day I cleaned it up, lubed the chain and pumped up the tyres and all seemed good.

Jacinta and I cycled for 13 km and the bike went well with no problems. the cycle track is easy and has nice views over the Tuggerah Lake. A strong wind was blowing so there were a lot of birds along the lakeside in the sheltered areas.

I had a bit of fun riding along a couple of piers.

Back at the start, I took Mr Archibald for a ride on my bike. He loved it.

LONG JETTY CYCLE - 1 APRIL 2016

John and I went for a bike ride at Long Jetty.

This was john's first ride since his injury and he went well on the flats and eventually the small hill climbs.

It was a great morning with a few highlights :-

On peddling out on one of the piers there were seagulls and terns roosting on the railing all the way along. As we cycled along the pier, the seagulls flew off in a sort of formation to the left and the right. It looked pretty cool from my vantage point behind John.

We watched a teen girl doing all sorts of tricks on her bike in the bike park. Amazing to watch! She was so good but alas, the footage didn't turn out as I turned the go pro off rather than on. She said she had been practising for a few years and learned watching the older boys.

People saying hello and good morning as we cycled pass them.

Cycling along the piers. We met a young guy fishing at the end of one jetty. He had no luck fishing but he enjoyed the solitude and view.

A play in the two bike parks though I was wasn't near the young girls standard, I still had a good time and felt inspired to do better.

A fun bike ride.

LONG JETTY TO CHITTAWAY BAY CYCLE - 29 FEBRUARY 2016

A sunny morning. Time for a bike ride.

I started at Long Jetty and cycled west following the bike path to Chittaway Bay.

There were a number of spots to stop and admire the different views of the lake.

There were also a number of birds wading in the shallows and roosting on the piers - pelicans, sea gulls, ibis, cormorants, ducks and plovers.

A pleasant 13.54 km ride.

Next, I drove to Terrigal Haven for a refreshing swim. I got to talking with a lady while floating in the water. She started by telling me that she likes to look at life positively. After that, she told me the problems with the world and her family.

LONG JETTY - CYCLE - 1 SEPTEMBER 2015

I had some time to spare in the afternoon, so I went for a cycle along the bike/footpath at Long Jetty.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that a bike obstacle course had been made by council where I parked my car. I had fun cycling over the bumps and around the tight corners.

The track was pleasant being concrete with enough room for two way traffic. There were a few small bridges to cycle over and two small piers to cycle along.

The birds were scattered along the lakes edge.

A fun 11.93 km ride.

CENTRAL COAST - 4 TO 11 MARCH 2023

4 MARCH I woke and unloaded and tidied the van. I drove Jacinta to the Hens party for Chloe at Glenworth Valley. Back home and I tidi...
