 21 MAY

A hike in Bouddi National Park along the Rocky Point Track with Jacinta.

This hike was along the tracks with a return along the trail. The tracks were quite eroded from the recent rains and muddy in spots. It made for a few obstacles to work around. The view at the lookout was superb over Hardy's Bay and surrounds. The return along the trail was easy as it is mainly along a dry service road.

24 MAY

A hike on the Cabbage Tree Track at Strickland State Forest with Jacinta.

A narrow up and down track that passes huge boulders, cliffs, soft ferns and cabbage trees. The track was muddy in parts. Watch out for the leeches!

26 MAY

A cycle from Long Jetty to The Entrance with Jacinta.

An easy cycle with great views over the lake. the tracks passes through parkland, picnic point and the lake foreshore.

BOUDDI NP - ROCKY POINT TRACK MTB - 23 SEPTEMBER 2016

At Bouddi National Park for a mountain bike ride on the Rocky Point Trail.


A fun ride. It started with a short track from the carpark that joined onto the Daley Point trail. A short distance along and there is an obscure turnoff to the left that twists and winds its way to the Rocky Point trail.

The Rocky Point trail was wide with some low gradient up and down sections and a varying ground terrain. A fun fast east ride.

Towards the end of the trail there was a turn off to the left with a sign indicating the Allen Strom Lookout. This is a fun short track that ends on a fenced enclosed lookout over Brisbane Water. A great view.

A fun 2.66 km ride.

BOUDDI NP - ROCKY POINT TRAIL MTB - 18 JUNE 2016

I parked near Maitland Bay Road and Wards Hill Road.


I started on the Daleys Point Trail then rode a small, fun and  narrow track that joined onto the Rocky Point Trail.

I followed the main trail for awhile. It was easy with some small obstacles and a few wet sections.

I took a track to the right which was steep and rugged. It was so much fun as it was so hard. there were a couple of drop offs that were beyond me which I walked down. Still, it was a great track. there was one section where I was walking up the trail as it was a drop of about two metres. Bike tracks showed that some riders have done the drop. Amazing!

Just above this point, there were a group of large sandstone boulders which I wandered around and on top of. Nice view of the surrounding bush and some great looking grass trees with their amazing flower.

Back to the main track and then it was a turn off for Allen Strom Lookout. A fun ride on this track with a great view across the south of Brisbane Water.

Back to the main track for a short distant for another track back on the northern side of the trail. This was hard in spots but doable.

A fun 3.03km ride with some exciting side tracks.
