CENTRAL COAST HIKE - BATEAU BAY - 20 MAY 2015
An early morning hike at Bateau Bay.
The sunrise was more of a contrasting black and white affair with the low dark clouds and the rocks and their reflective grey skies pools of water.
It was a pleasant and slippery walk on the rocks.
At Crackneck Point, there were some waves and no one out. I sat and watched the waves for awhile.

CENTRAL COAST - CRACKNECK - SURF - 6 may 2014
I sprained my toe about a week ago. It was feeling okay so I did a drive around for waves. Crackneck was looking good with a tight crowd. I videoed from the top of Crackneck Lookout.
Rather than go for it. I took the easy way and went out in a mild wamby surf. Lucky, I couldn't balance because of the toe. When I decided to just go for it, it hurt quite a lot. So, in I went and now i'll wait till it's fully better.
Three weeks plus till Indo so it should be right before then.

CENTRAL COAST - Bateau Bay to Crackneck - HIKE - 20 december 2009
Parked at south end of Bateau Bay. Walk down the ramp or stairs and on to the beach. The bay is partially sheltered and good for a swim though it is unpatrolled.
Walking south there is a large shore platform from the edge of the beach to Crackneck Point. Along the way there are shallow pools of water and even mangroves at one spot. The cliff background is densely vegetated with native and weed growth.
Birdlife varied with crows, seagulls and other sea birds. Molluscs clump in species groups along the surface of the rock platform and mix together in the watery crevices.
grade: easy, flat
warnings: best 3 hours either side of low tide, rock platform is very slippery in parts.
