27 JULY TO 19 AUGUST 2022
Life in Balian takes a leisurely routine. Usually, an early morning surf followed by breakfast and a second surf. The wind generally increases anytime from 11am from cross to onshore.
The surf varied a lot during this time from well over head height to waist height. Mainly, it was big and fun.
All this surfing causes havoc with the body – leg aches, arm aches and dehydration. All part of the fun and nothing serious.
On the small or crappy surf mornings, Jacinta and I walked to the
village and along a number of small back roads and back to the hotel.
During the day,
we would swim in the pool, have a walk, chat to people, do yoga/exercises or
read.
The restaurants
are a little limited and only one was taking visa card. The restaurants we
frequented were Tekor, Casa and Dekis. There were other restaurants and warungs
to choose from.
A lot of chatting
goes on with people staying for short times then moving on. We have met a lot
of people from various parts of the world – France, Sweden, Germany, India,
Australia, New Zealand.
Presently the
surf is terrible … time for a break 😊
