We followed a track on the summit of Wards Hill opposite the Wards Hill carpark.
The weather was cool and partly cloudy.
The track was narrow but defined. It lead back to the main road twice but after a short distance it veered but into the bush again.
There were amazing views from the top of a steep escarpment over the waterways of Brisbane Water. The edges of the escarpment dropped vertically and most of the viewpoints were actually overhanging over the drop. This was clear when you looked back at where you were viewing from another viewpoint. A brief thought was one day this will fall.
The track was wet in another of places but generally okay.
There were some wildflowers in bloom.
After we finished, we had a conversation with a council employee who explained that a gated area on the other side of the road was a dumping point for areas that council had cleaned up. Once the material reaches about 8 tonnes a large truck picks it up and takes to the dump. This works out to be more cost effective.
