It is injury time for me at the moment.
Started with my lower back, then on my right lower back and now my neck. They all hurt a lot especially, the neck which is disconcertingly painful with any abrupt movement. Anyway, they all seem to be on the mend and, hopefully, back to normal tomorrow.
I have been doing short walks at Terrigal Haven. It is okay for a semi urban walk but I needed to do something different today.
I drove up to Kincumba Mountain and walked the Kanning Trail.
It was a nice walk with lots of ferns, bird calls, wildflowers and interesting rock formations. There was also a small cave - really a rock overhang which was fun to walk around.
During the walk, I disturbed a wallaby. I didn't get to see it but I could hear it bounding away through the dense bush.

CENTRAL COAST - SURF, MTB, MARKETS - 13 NOVEMBER 2018
10 November 2018
A small but fun surf with Terry and Jim (jungle) at North Avoca. A nice shape at the beginning but after an hour the tide became too full and the waves were barely breaking and closer to shore.
Jacinta and I went to the French Markets . It was interesting but no bargains to be found in the stalls. There was nice music playing - guitar and piano accordion. We ran into a number of Jacinta's work colleagues.
11 November 2018
A mountain bike ride on the Rocky Point tracks at Bouddi National Park.
A good ride with a few obstacles - drop offs, tree roots, rocks, etc. The view at the lookout at the end of the ride is always inspiring.
13 November 2018
A mountain bike ride at Brisbane Water National Park to Rocky Ponds.
A fun ride with a few steep sections with lots of fist sized rocks scattered across the trail. A bit scary with a bit of speed but all was good. At the ponds, I sat in the sunshine and watched the water flow. I also had a wander around the many levels of the ponds,. Nice.
On the way back, I got a bit of a shock when I nearly ran over a massive brown snake. Luckily, it was paying attention to me and was eagerly getting out of my way.
footnote
Over the last week, Jacinta and I have been working heaps in the front garden - weeding, planting, tidying - a massive job.

BRISBANE WATER NP - WARRAH TRACKS MTB - 7 NOVEMBER 2018
A surf check for the start of the day. North Avoca Beach had a very small and infrequent wave so I opted for a mountain bike ride.
I drove south to Warrah Trig Road in Brisbane Water National Park.
The start was the tessellated sandstone to the north of the road. It's a relatively wide flat area just above an increasing steeper and denser gully. It was heaps of fun meandering over the sandstone and around regenerating bushland.
Next was a narrow track that ran parallel with the main road. A flat track with a few obstacles. A new track veered off. I followed but it wasn't much fun. Too many rocks at pedal level on a very narrow line.
It joined on to another track that lead to wide outcrop of tessellated sandstone. I spent a bit of time riding to the various nooks and crannies of the platform. There were great views at times over the surrounding bush and the ocean.
On to the main road and up to a turn off to the right. I just lazily followed the main trails and turned off for the PMG Trail.
This trail was downhill all the way. It was steep, eroded, covered in fist size rocks with pockets of deep soft sand. Heaps of fun negotiating the difficult terrain ... successfully.
Back at the van, all packed and it stated to rain.
Great morning.

NORTH AVOCA BEACH/LAGOON - SURF AND KAYAK - 5 NOVEMBER 2018
A very foggy morning.
I drove to North Avoca Beach. The visibility was very limited due to the fog.
I ran into Ian and Brett and we paddled out into the mist. We were the only ones out. The fog was so thick at times we could barely see the beach. It was strange surfing with no land reference points.
The waves were okay to good. There was a lot of water movement and swirling. In the last week, North Avoca has been on the media for shark sightings.
After the surf, I drove a short distance to Avoca Lagoon and had a kayak.
The mist wasn't as thick over the lagoon but it as swirling eerily with the light wind.

NORTH AVOCA - SURF - 3 NOVEMBER 2018
A fun surf at North Avoca.
I arrived to no one out. Back to the car, gear ready, don to the beach and five guys are just about to paddle out where I was going. Bummer!
Anyway, it worked out well and I had heaps of fun and good waves. After an hour, the crowd dramatically increased. I was happy and wanted to stay happy so in I went.
I sat on shore and took some photos.
Later, I met Jacinta at the Haven. We had a walk then coffee on the beach. Nice start to the day,
